Governor’s Kids’ Safety Calendar
Each year, a statewide contest is held to select the artwork for the Governor’s Kids’ Safety Calendar. Children in grades 1-8 are invited to submit a drawing depicting a highway safety message. For the 2008 calendar, the students from the Thomas J. Pappas Elementary School in Phoenix selected the top 13 entries from nearly 3,000 submissions statewide.
We would like to express our thanks to the students, their teachers and principals, who submitted the artwork for the calendar, to the sponsors who have provided financial support, to the many organizations that will distribute the calendar to Arizona’s children and a special thanks to the students of the Thomas J. Pappas Elementary School in Phoenix who served as judges for the selection of the artwork.
Our greatest thanks go to those who will use this calendar throughout the year and discuss the important highway safety messages with children.
